OVERWATCH TURRET FABRICATION 2018

오버워치의 캐릭터 “토르비욘"을 포탑의 실제 사이즈 버전으로 설치하는 프로젝트로, 블리자드 코리아와의 콜라보레이션을 통해 탄생한 작품이다. 1m 높이에 30kg의 무게를 자랑하고, 게임처럼 포신을 조종할 수 있고 고무공 발사도 가능하다. 포신 제어를 위해 높은 토크의 다이나믹셀과 기어드 모터가 적용되었다. 이 작품은 독특한 제작 방식을 사용했는데, 대부분 부품이 총 2천 시간에 걸쳐 3D프린터로 제작되었다. 외형은 거칠고 녹슨 느낌을 재현하기 위해 웨더링을 적용했다.

This project is a life-sized installation of the Overwatch character "Torbjörn's" turret, created in collaboration with Blizzard Korea. Standing 1 meter tall and weighing 30 kilograms, the turret can be manually controlled to rotate its barrel, just like in the game, and is capable of launching rubber balls. For precise barrel control, high-torque DYNAMIXEL actuators and geared motors were used. The piece features a unique production process—most of its components were 3D printed over the course of 2,000 hours. To recreate a rugged, rusted appearance, weathering techniques were applied to the surface finish.
