KINETIC INSTALLATION FOR SOUND OF WATER 2022

23회 송은미술대상전에서 신제현 작가의 《물의 소리》 전시를 위한 키네틱 아트 제작하였습니다. 바다의 형상을 구현한 플렉시블 LED 디스플레이 기반의 구조물과, 하늘을 유영하는 고래 형태를 설계 및 설치하였고, 섬을 본뜬 책을 FDM 프린팅 방식으로 제작하였습니다. 이 작업은 인구 30명 이하의 무인도가 되어가는 섬 10곳에서 수집한 폐가의 목재와 가구로 배와 악기를 제작하고 연주하는 프로젝트의 일부로, 버려진 자재에서 비롯된 파편적 기억과 파도처럼 반복되는 시간성을 빛과 움직임으로 풀어냅니다.

Kinetic art was produced for artist Jehyeon Shin’s Sound of Water, presented at the 23rd SongEun Art Award Exhibition. The work includes a flexible LED display structure evoking the sea and a whale-shaped kinetic sculpture floating in the air. An island-shaped book was also 3D printed using FDM. Part of a project in which boats and instruments are crafted and performed using wood and furniture from abandoned houses on depopulated islands, the installation visualizes fragmented memories and the cyclical flow of time through light and motion.
