GERMAN PAVILION_LONGEGA PROJECT 2024
EXHIBITION ｜ PLANT MOVEMENT ｜ INTERACTIVE SYSTEM
2024년 제15회 광주비엔날레 ‘독일 파빌리온’의 〈Longega Project〉 내 〈두물마을〉 참여작가의 작품 제작 및 전시 설치를 진행하였습니다. 광주역사민속박물관에서 열린 본 전시는, 문화 교류 그룹 ‘Longega’와 함께 예술을 박물관의 경계를 넘어 창조적 포럼으로 확장하려는 실험적 시도로 기획되었습니다. 레트릭스는 일정 시간 간격으로 식물이 흔들리는 키네틱 장치와, 야광 염료를 입힌 식물이 어두운 공간에서 관람자의 움직임에 반응해 조명이 전환되는 인터랙티브 시스템을 설계·제작하였습니다.
We participated in the production and installation of an artwork featured in the 〈Dumul Village〉 section of the Longega Project, part of the German Pavilion at the 15th Gwangju Biennale (2024). Held at the Gwangju Museum of History & Folk, the pavilion was conceived as an experimental project with the cultural collective Longega, aiming to expand art beyond the boundaries of the museum and transform the space into a vibrant forum for creation. Retrix designed and built a kinetic system in which plants rhythmically tremble and pause at set intervals, as well as an interactive lighting mechanism where glow-coated plants respond to human presence—activating in darkness and deactivating in absence. <Fata Morgana> Siyoung Kim, 2024
